Rhino Rack Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Ford Transit T150- Video
Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to show you how to install Rhino Rack Roof Rack with our Vortex Aero Crossbars on our 2017 Ford Transit T150. For this particular installation, you have your fixed mounting bracket, which mounts directly to the roof of the vehicle and then for our Vortex Aero Crossbars to work, with our fix mounted legs, we're going to have the RLTP adapters.What a roof rack is designed to do, it's going to allow us to free up space inside the vehicle, to allow us to carry on top of the vehicle. Now, for our particular installation, you can see our spread has to be a little bit wider. Typically, your crossbar would be here. This would accommodate your roof baskets, your cargo carriers, but for our particular installation you can see we have a vent in place.Our customer is going to be using this as their camper. more

Thule SquareBar Crossbars Installation - 2017 Ford Escape- Video
Hey guys, today we have a 2017 Ford Escape, and we're going to do a test-fit of the Thule SquareBar crossbar roof rack system.Now this is a roof rack system that mounts to the raised side rails of your Ford Escape, and allows you to get your favorite accessories, whether you got a bike rack, a kayak carrier, or even a rooftop cargo box, get them up on your roof, so you can use them properly.Now this roof rack system's made from a couple different parts. Up top, we're going to have our 53-inch SquareBar crossbars, and Thule's actually redesigned these to make them suit the foot pack a little bit better instead of having a foot pack where it comes over the crossbar like that. They actually have an integrated channel right here, so that our raised rail feet can come in this slot, they don't wrap around our bar though. We're going to have more usability of the top bar.Now down here we're going to have the Evo raised side rail feet. These clamp on your raised side rails, and basically just connect the crossbars to your roof. We open up our foot, you'll just see we have our tightening bolt right here, and that's what clamps it down onto the side rail. more

Inno Roof Rack Review - 2018 Ford Fusion- Video
Today on our 2018 Ford Fusion, we're going to be performing a test fit for our Inno Aero roof rack system.This Inno roof rack system is going to allow us to carry roof mounted accessories on our Fusion. Things like roof mounted bike racks, kayak carriers, cargo baskets and more. It's going to allow us to us clamp on style accessories, as well as T-track accessories.Now our crossbars are going to allow us to use about 38" of usable space from end to end. There's about 2" of clearance from the bottom of the bar to the top of the roof. They're also an aerodynamic design, which means they're a lot quieter when traveling down the road, than your traditional round or square bars.Now, our bars are flush mount design, which means that they're going to end at the edge of your vehicle and not overhang. Also, our end caps here are nice and smooth, and kind of offer that more factory look. more

Today on our 2018 Ford Edge, we're going to be test fitting NO-Aero Roof Rack System. So this NO roof rack system is going to allow us to carry roof mounted accessories. Things like cargo carriers, bike racks, kayak carriers, and more. Now these have aero bars. They're going to be a lot quieter than your traditional round or square bars and they also feature flesh mount end caps which are going to give you more of that factory look.Now this rack does allow us to use both clamp on T-channel accessories. To gain access to the T-channel, you'd simply insert your key into the cap and remove the cap. more

Yakima Roof Rack Review - 2018 Ford Edge- Video
Today on our 2018 Ford Edge, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima CoreBar Roof Rack System. Now, the main thing that separates this roof rack system with others is the crossbars are made out of a steel that's covered in a nice hard plastic. Now, this increases the maximum load capacity to 220 pounds, but you will want to check in your Edge's owner's manual to make sure your roof can support that. Go ahead and use whichever number is lower.Now, because of the crossbar's steel design, it only accepts the use of clamp-on style accessories. From the bottom to the top of the roof you have three inches of clearance. Now our crossbars are held in place by four baseline towers, which feature a rubber coating. more

Inno Roof Rack Installation - 2018 Ford Flex- Video
Today, in our 2018 Ford Flex, we're going to be doing a test on the Inno Square Bar Roof Rack System.We'll be using part numbers INB147 for the 58 inch long black steel crossbars, and part number INSUT for the Inno feet for the square crossbars. Part number INK263 for the customer fit kit.This Inno roof rack system's going to allow us to carry roof mounted accessories on our Ford Flex. Things like bike racks, kayak carriers, roof boxes, and much more.It has the traditional square bar design. Now, these aren't going to be as quiet as an aero style. Like anything we put on a roof, it's going to make a little bit of noise. If you'd like to keep that down to a minimum, you can pick up a fairing to place on the front crossbar.Now, as I said in the intro, the bars are 58 inches long. more

SeaSucker Roof Rack Review - 2018 Ford Edge- Video

It uses vacuum cups to adhere itself to your Ford Edge's roof. So that's very unique to this roof rack system. When looking at our best roof rack systems available we have these three to choose from. Up at the front we have the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero roof rack system. Finally, we have the Yakima JetStream roof rack system.Now all these three roof rack systems are great, but they do have some differences, and that's what we're going to be focusing on here. Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting the NO square bar roof rack system consisting of part numbers IMB127, these are the NO square cross bars, 50 inches long. To hold those in place on the factory rate side rails, we have the NO feet here, part number INFR. This is a great roof rack system that can carry a wide variety of accessories ranging from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes. They have a nice strong, sturdy square bar to hold things onto and of course, you can only utilize the wrap around accessories, no T tracks for this. You can upgrade to the NO arrow bars with another part number.Now, while these are square bars, they will produce noise while you drive. However, they do offer fairings that you can purchase online at etrailer.com to help cut down the wind noise and drag by creating a deflector at the front. more

The bars here have a nice aerodynamic shape to them. And, that, coupled with this rubber strip up at the top, that's going to help cut down wind noise and drag while you drive. Rhino Rack Roof Rack Review - 2017 Ford Escape- Video

These also come in silver under part number RRV8126S-2. The second part is going to be our SX series legs you see right here, that's going to be part number RRSX100. As you can see, we already have our front crossbar installed so we can go ahead and take a look at some of the features. As you can see, these rails have an elliptical design, which is going to help cut down any type of wind resistance or wind noise when you're traveling, along with this rubber strip up here, which is also going to help with that.Seeing the rubber strip, we can notice that these roof .. this roof rack is going to be compatible with T-track accessories, and how you do that is you simply take your key for your end cap. more

Thule Roof Rack Review - 2017 Ford Escape- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford Escape we're gonna be test fitting the Thule Aeroblade Edge Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers TH7503 for the front, and TH7502 for the rear. These are gonna be the aeroblade edge crossbars that attach to your factory raised side rails. These also come in black as part number TH7503B-TH7502B. As I said, these attach to your factory raised side rails by wrapping around with these rubber coated steel straps. These are padded to make sure that nothing gets damaged once this is being installed. These bars are aerodynamically shaped, so that's gonna help cut down on wind noise and drag, effectively removing any of the sound that you may experience while you're traveling.We also have this rubber strip up at the top here. more

Inno Roof Rack Review - 2014 Ford Escape- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Ford Escape we're gonna be test fitting the INNO Aero Roof Rack System consisting of part numbers INXB108-2. These are gonna be the two INNO Aero crossbars and to hold those onto our factory raised side rails, we're gonna be utilizing the INNO flush feet and that's gonna be INXS100. This is a great roof rack system that has this nice factory sleek style look to it thanks to its flush mount design. The bars themselves are gonna be aerodynamically shaped so that's gonna cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive virtually eliminating the need for any fairings like you would have for square or round bars. Up at the top here we do have this rubber strip and this means you can utilize T track accessories with this once this is installed. How you would access those, you would remove the end cap here and you can see the strip here.Now what sets this apart from others is, unlike having to remove this strip completely and cut its length when you're installing your accessories with this, you just simply push down and slide your T track accessory in as needed. more

Thule Roof Rack Review - 2014 Ford Escape- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting the Thule AeroBlade Edge roof rack system, consisting of part numbers TH7502-TH7503. These also come in black as part number TH7502B-TH7503B. These are the AeroBlade Edge crossbars up top here, and this roof rack system has this nice, sleek look in flush mount style, which makes it almost look factory installed once it is installed.The bars themselves are aerodynamically shaped and that, coupled with that rubber strip up at the top, that's going to help cut down the wind noise and drag while you drive. Lifting up our endcap here, you can utilize T-track accessories with this roof rack system as well.Once you install the endcap, there is a knockout here for a Thule system, which is sold separately, so you can secure this to your roof, but you can also secure your T-track accessories, as you can't remove those without removing this.One thing that you need to consider though is, you do lose some usability of your roof rack system, as from this point here to the other point, that's how much space you have for your accessories, such as bike racks, cargo baskets, or cargo boxes. If you need more space, then you can upgrade or change your mind to the Thule AeroBlade roof rack system, where their bars actually go out past this endpoint here.So let's go ahead and show you how this installs. We already have the rear one partially assembled on our table here, and it's a pretty easy setup, prior to installing on your rails.The first step is to take our strap here, that wraps up underneath the factory raised side rail, and attach it to our actual AeroBlade Edge. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Ford Escape, we're gonna be testing the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack system.This is gonna consist of part numbers RRVA126B-2, and these are the Vortex Aero Cross Bars 49 inches long at the top. These are the black in color ones, but these also come in aluminum as part number RRVA126S-2.To hold them in onto the factory raised side rails, we have the SX series legs, part number RRSX100. This is a great roof rack system that can carry a wide variety of accessories, ranging from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes.These bars have an elliptical shape to them, and that's gonna help cut down wind noise and drag while you drive, especially because of the vortex arrow strip up at the top.You can remove the end caps using a special tool here. In doing so, you can see that we can utilize T-Trek accessories with this roof rack system. What you would do is you would remove the vortex arrow strip, install your accessory, and then cut the strip for length around it.On the end caps they do have these locks here, these plastic locks. And, you can have these replaced and removed with actual locks, which you can find on etrailer.com to secure both your T-Track accessory and your roof rack system to your factory raised side rail.It is padded where it makes contacts. more

Malone Roof Rack Review - 2014 Ford Escape- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2014 Ford Escape, we're gonna be testing the Malone Steel Top Roof Rack System, and this is gonna be part number MPG202. This includes the bars, and the towers that attach to your factory raised side rails.The bars themselves are gonna be 58 inches long and this installation will also apply to part number MPT201 and those are the 50 inch bars as everything attaches exactly the same, just the bar length is gonna be different. This is a great roof rack system that can serve a wide variety of purposes such as carrying bike racks, cargo baskets or cargo boxes.The square bars are nice and sturdy however, they do produce a little bit of noise while you travel. We do offer fairings etraler.com that you can utilize to attach around the bars and cut down that wind noise and drag or you can upgrade to an aero bar, for Malone it's gonna be the Malone Airflow Two Roof Rack system and that's gonna be MPG215 or 216.Moving on to the towers here you can see that it comes along with this locking system here, so once you attach this to your factory raised side rail, it's gonna be secure to it as well. It simply clamps around your existing side rail, like so and tightens down into place with the included hardware.Let's go ahead and show you how the rear one goes into place. We already have it assembled on our table here, which is an actual advantage of this roof rack system, is the fact that everything comes already installed once you get it out of the box. more

SeaSucker Roof Rack Review - 2013 Ford Fusion- Video
Speaker 1: Today, on our 2013 Ford Fusion, we're going to be test-fitting the Seasucker monkey bar roof rack system with 48-inch crossbars. This is going to part number 298-SX6000.What makes this unique from the other roof rack systems for the Fusion is the fact that it utilizes these suction mounts to attach to your roof as opposed to the clamps that go underneath your door frame. So there's a lot less putting together needed necessarily for this as opposed to the others. Once installed, the suction cup mounts have 210 pounds of pull pressure. And this is a great roof rack system to carry a wide variety of accessories ranging from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes. And these can be adjusted back and forth to accommodate different style roofs.As you can see we have this sunroof here and it's not going to come into contact with our roof rack, because we we're able to move it out of the way. more

This also applies to part number MPG216, which are the 58-inch long cross bars.The Malone Airflow 2 is a great roof rack that can carry a wide variety of accessories, while freeing up space inside your vehicle. This can carry anything from bike racks to ski carriers to snowboard carriers to kayak carriers.The bars have an aerodynamic shape to them. And that, coupled with the rubber strip at the top, as well as the one that you would install underneath, that will cut down the wind noise and drag and not necessitate any fairings like you would have to get for square or round bars. This also applies to part number TH45058, which is the complete cross road kit with 58 inch bars.The Thule square load bar roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories, such as bike racks, cargo baskets, and cargo boxes. While these are square bars and they're very durable, they will make noise while you drive, so you may need to purchase something, such as an aftermarket fairing, which you can find on etrailer.com. Or, you can also upgrade to the Aero bars, which will cut down that wind noise and drag as well, and you can use T-track accessories with them.The end caps have a plastic knockout, which you can replace with the Thule lock core, which is also sold separately, so you can secure it to your factory rate side rails and even made it keyed alike with your accessories as well. These are very easy to install as they just simply wrap around your existing factory rated side rail, and are tightened down with this bolt and an integrated tool, which you carry with you so you can take this on and off with ease as you travel.From the center of the roof to the bottom of the bar is gonna be about two and seven eighths of an inch. While from the center of the roof to the top of the bar is gonna be three and seven eighths inches. more

While you can carry things such as bike racks, cargo baskets or cargo boxes, you are limited with space on these. While it does have that factory look, you lose from this point out as to how many accessories you can put on your roof. So you may just be limited to one cargo basket or two or three bikes as opposed to four. more

Inno Roof Rack Review - 2018 Ford Escape- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford Escape, we're going to be test-fitting the Inno Aero Crossbar Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers INXB108-2, these are the Inno Aero Crossbars, 42 inches long. We'll also be using part number INXS100, and this is the Inno Flush Feet for the Aero Crossbars, particularly for the factory raised side rails.The Inno Aero Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while maintaining a factory style look once it's installed, but it also gives you that extra space in between the roof and the bars here to install your accessories as well.This can carry anything from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes. Moving our end cap here, which is lockable, you can see that the bar itself has a nice aerodynamic shape to it with a rubber strip up on the top which is going to cut down the wind noise and drag while you're driving. It does accept T-track accessories. Just simply push down as opposed to remove and cut the strips to length once you want to install them, and when they are, you simply reinstall the locking end cap and put it into place.Now, something to note here, since it's cut off at this point here for the roof rack system, you are going to lose some space with accessories once you install these. Again, this is more of an aesthetic choice as opposed to a practical choice.From the center of the roof to the bottom of the bar is going to be about two and seven eighths of an inch. more

Yakima Roof Rack Review - 2011 Ford Fusion- Video
Speaker 1: Today, on our 2011 Ford Fusion, we're going to be installing the Yakima core bar crossbars, part numbers Y00422, Y100146, Y06102, and Y06159. This is a way to git a roof rack on your car when you have no factory raised rails or a location to install them. They're clamp-on. It's got a 60 inch crossbar with an aerodynamic design that'll help reduce wind noise and drag. There's no T slots or anything on this one, unlike some of the other models. However, it should work with most clamper on accessories.And when comparing this with some of the other Yakima models, this is kind of the mid-tier. more

The square bars are very strong and sturdy, however they will make noise while you drive so you may have to purchase an after market fairing, which you can find on etrailer.com. Or you can upgrade to Aero bars, which you can also find on etrailer.com. And they simply wrap around your existing factory raised side rails with a rubber coated steel straps and have integrated knobs here to tighten them or loosen them up as you need, so you can take these on and off as you like while you travel.I'd like to give you a couple of quick measurements now. more
